Homes in East Hampshire get helping hand

Have your say

HOUSEHOLDS in Finchdean and Rowlands Castle whose private sewage systems have broken due to flooding have been provided with portaloos.

East Hampshire District Council provided the temporary toilets to eight properties in the district’s villages hardest hit by the bad weather.

More than 3,000 sandbags have been given out and the Taro Leisure Centre, in Petersfield, has been set up as a drop in centre for people in the Ditcham, Chawton, Farringdon and East Meon areas who have suffered power cuts.

The council has warned people not to ignore road closure signs on flooded roads. Anyone who sees anyone moving a sign is urged to call 101.
