PLANS to build 60 homes and a new health centre in Horndean have been approved.

Councillors at East Hampshire District Council voted to approve the proposals at a planning meeting.

Sunley Estates Ltd now has outline permission to build the homes in Havant Road, next to the Keydell Nursery site, which is already earmarked for 160 homes.

Twelve of the new homes will be flats, with the rest being a mixture of houses ranging from one to four bedrooms in size. Twenty-four will be affordable.

Noise mitigation measures will be included as the site is close to the A3(M).
