A CHILDREN’S charity has opened a new shop and hopes to raise plenty of money for the cause.

The Bridge Shopping Centre, in Fratton Road, is the location of the new Barnardos shop.

Manager Sally-Ann Brown, said: ‘We’re so pleased to have a new shop in Fratton. We want this to become a regular haunt for savvy shoppers, whether they are hunting for a gift, a summer item of clothing or a good holiday read. If you are passing by please pop in and have a look around.

‘As always with Barnardo’s shops, we aim to raise money and awareness of the work we do, with more than 100,000 vulnerable children and young people across the UK each year.

‘Shoppers should know that as well as buying something unique, every purchase they make in the Fratton store will help us to give disadvantaged young people an opportunity to turn their lives around.’

The shop also welcomes donations of good quality clothing and accessories, books, CDs and DVDs, toys, bric-a-brac and linen.
