AT LEAST five apprenticeship places are being offered to young people in hospice charity stores.

The Rowans Hospice Trading Company is offering a minimum of five positions to young people aged 16 to 24 at its shops in Cowplain, Havant, North End, Portchester and Titchfield.

As well as employment for 12 months, the apprentices will achieve NVQ level 2 in Customer Service, with Chichester College.

Anne Yendell, director of finance and operations at the hospice, said: ‘We are really excited to be able to offer apprenticeships.

‘This is a fantastic chance for us to further engage with the community which supports us, and to give something back by offering opportunities for young people to gain valuable skills and experience in the workplace which can support them to go on to a career or further education.’
