A children’s hospice has thanked generous shoppers at Cascades Shopping Centre in Portsmouth for donating nearly £200 in loose change.
Fundraising efforts at the centre in the run-up to Christmas included a gift-wrapping service collection tins and a wishing well.
The well raised £96.15 and the gift-wrapping £96, coming to £192.15 in total, with money still to come from the collection tins.
The funds will go to Naomi House and Jacksplace, a charity the centre has supported for a number of years.
Cascades centre manager Rhoda Joseph said: ‘I’d really like to thank all of those who made a donation.
‘It never ceases to amaze me how kind-hearted our shoppers are, especially at a time of year when money can be a bit tight.’
Sarah Hudson, area fundraiser for Naomi House added: ‘We are so thankful to the people of Portsmouth for their kind contributions.
‘The support that we get means that we are able to continue to provide care to life-limited and seriously ill children. Without this kind of support we couldn’t do what we do, so from everyone at the hospice we’d just like to say a big thank you.’
