A BURST water main has flooded four houses in Paulsgrove, Portsmouth.
One fire engine from Cosham was sent out to Birdlip Road at around 7am after residents called to say water was flowing through the ground floor of their homes.
Crews pumped the water, which was more than an inch deep, out whilst owners salvaged their contents.
The water board was alerted and engineers are now fixing the burst water main, which runs underneath the pavement outside the properties.
Watch manager Mark Norton, of Cosham fire station, said: ‘The situation is now being dealt with by the water board because the situation has not been identified as an emergency.’
