STREET collectors raised hundreds of pounds for a military charity.

People went out on the streets of Gosport during the HMS Sultan Freedom of the Borough parade on June 1.

In total, £592.37 was raised for The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

A spokeswoman for the collection said: ‘The charity would like to thank the people of Gosport for their generosity.

‘Monies raised will support serving and former members of the naval service and their families.
