GENEROUS shoppers have given hundreds of pounds to help keep the lifeboat service afloat.

The Locks Heath and district branch of the RNLI collected £633.38 at its collection at Sainsbury’s in Broadcut on January 28.

The collection was part of the national SOS fundraising event.

Branch chairwoman Jenny Robinson said: ‘We are extremely grateful to all those who contributed, to Sainsbury’s and their staff, and our volunteers for helping to raise this wonderful sum of money to support the work of the institution.’
