It's Santa calling!

Korean War hero ‘insulted’ at plans to limit veterans at Emsworth St George’s Day parade

Everyone knows it's Santa's Christmas Eve job to go house to house.

But he's begun a little early, touring round homes in Southsea.

Tonight he'll be in Eastney, then Milton and Baffins later in the week.

And rather than clambering down chimneys to give little boys and girls their presents, Santa, with help from Dave Oxford from the Portsmouth Lions Club, has been knocking on the front door and asking for donations to local causes.

He said: 'We've been doing this for the past 20 years, collecting for the local charities throughout the Christmas period.

'Everyone is very happy to see us. They look forward to seeing us. The money is given to any charity or person the Lions Club thinks deserves it.

'We help internationally, but we put our country, and our town, first,' added Dave.

He's also appealing for people to become new members for the Portsmouth Lions Club.
