THERE are 10 places left for people to join slimmer Darin McCloud in the Great South Run.

Darin, 46, used to weigh 19 stone 10lbs, but has lost four stone since February.

He had previously been piling on the pounds to qualify for weight-loss surgery.

But now the traffic warden is taking part in the run in October and raising funds for Diabetes UK.

Darin, of Stanley Road, Stamshaw, has been working with weight loss company Thinking Slimmer and its ‘Slimpod’, which plays recordings said to help change the listener’s attitude towards food. A free Slimpod is being offered to the 20 runners who will join Darin.
