Joy as Tesco retrieve purse lost between escalators at Fareham store.

I WAS so delighted.

That is how Ann Burgess felt when she got the call from Tesco to say that her purse lost between two escalators had been retrieved.

Ann said: '˜There is a five-inch gap and my daughter just accidentally dropped it while holding it for me.

'˜I thought it was outrageous that they could not get it back and it seems a feeble attempt.

'˜Surely if they need to do maintenance then they would need to have access and it also begs the question if they can not access it then why is there a five-inch gap where people could easily drop items through it.'

But yesterday Ann received the news that the store had retrieved the purse between the escalators at the store in Quay Street.

She said: '˜The manager of the store was on holiday when it happened and when he came back he said he didn't think it was acceptable so they cut a hole in the escalator and got it back.

'˜I am so delighted and the manager of Tesco has provided amazing customer service so thank you to him.'
