WHEN Kate Preston saw the treatment her best friend’s daughter had received, she knew she had to do something to help.

So the 43-year-old is planning to run the Brighton marathon for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Kate, of Somerville Drive in Fareham, said: ‘Nikki has been a long-term friend for 20 years. My daughter is the same age as Rebekah.

‘She has had such good treatment that I wanted to put some money back into it.

‘She couldn’t have got better treatment. They were absolutely fantastic.’

Kate will run 26.2 miles for the charity on April 15.

‘I did the London marathon about 20 years ago and I always wanted to do another one,’ she said.

‘Now I have got something worthwhile to aim for.’
