FIREFIGHTERS were called to two kitchen fires.

The first incident saw an oven glove catch light after it had been left on top of a hob at 6.10pm last night in Gruneisen Road, Stamshaw.

The second fire at 7.15pm in Garland Court, in Forton Road, Gosport, turned out to be smoke from burnt cooking coming from an eighth-floor flat which had set off fire alarms.

Nobody was hurt.
