FOUR workshops are being held to give keen knitters the chance to make poppies.

In memory of those who died in the First World War, the poppies will become part of a larger art piece.

The project was organised by the National Museum of the Royal Navy, in Portsmouth, and the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, in Gosport.

The first session is being held on September 22, from 1.30pm until 4pm at National Museum of the Royal Navy.

On September 30, from 1.30pm until 4pm, at Royal Navy Submarine Museum, there is another workshop.

The third session is on October 8 at National Museum of the Royal Navy, from 10.30am until midday and the final workshop is on October 15 at the Royal Marine Submarine Museum from 10.30am until 1pm.
