THE 11th race of a round-the-world event has got under way.

With 1,930 nautical miles between the start and finish of the race, the route will see the teams negotiate their way through the Caribbean Islands.

At the start of the race, Gosport skipper Greg Miller and his Mission Performance crew sit in sixth position overall. Max Stunell, from Portsmouth, and his PSP Logistics crew are last in the race standings.

Both will be hoping to get all-important points for their first podium finish of the competition.

Bonus points are also on offer with the scoring gate set to the western side of the course. It means the teams can either take the shortest route to New York and aim for a podium place or go for the extra points.
