A FIRM of solicitors has raised more than £500 for a cancer support centre in Gosport.

Churchers Bolitho Way, which has offices across the area, raised £550 for Harbour Cancer Support Centre, in South Street.

Staff from the firm went to the centre and donated the cheque with the Mayor of Gosport, Councillor John Beavis.

As reported, the firm had chosen to fundraise for the centre this year.

It offers help to anyone suffering with cancer in south-east Hampshire.

That also includes anyone affected by cancer, such as family and friends of the patient.

Director Melanie Whitfield-Tinkler and chairman Richard Graham accepted the donation.

Cllr Beavis said the centre is ‘yet another great facility provided by Gosport’s great volunteering community.’
