Learn abbey history at illustrated talk

THE ruined 13th century English Heritage abbeys at Netley and Titchfield are the subject of an illustrated talk on Monday.

Both of these religious houses were founded by the Bishop of Winchester Peter des Roches and suffered similar fates during Henry VIII’s reign, when they were converted into palatial secular houses.

Find out what happened to the buildings after this at the Mountford Rooms, Emsworth Community Centre at 7.30pm.

The talk will include stories about the personalities who visited and inhabited the houses.

Admission is £2/£3. Call 01243 378 091.
