YOUNG people are being offered the chance to experience what life is like working behind the scenes at the theatre.

Local theatre director Hilary Strong is running a series of full-time theatre production courses at Cowplain Community School in Waterlooville.

They cover set design, costume and prop making, lighting and sound design and stage management, with a public performance at the end of the two-week course.

People who complete the course will achieve a BTEC Level 1 Award in work skills.

The first course is running for two weeks from Monday until to Friday, August 10.

It’s free, but only open to young people aged between 16 and 18 that are not currently in full time education, or unemployed adults.

For more information or to enrol, please email Hilary Strong on hilary@strong-ideas.co.uk.
