BUDDING writers can hone their skills on a writers’ safari with a prize-winning author.

Poet and novelist Claire Collison is the writer in residence at The Spring, Havant, throughout October.

She will head events around the town including workshops, talks and one-to-one surgeries.

Her latest novel, Treading Water, has proved a hit and she will impart her expert advice, wit, and wisdom beginning tomorrow night at 7.30pm with a meet-the-writer event.

On Saturdays throughout the month Ms Collison will be holding six-hour long writing safaris from 11am to 5pm.

All you need for the safari is a passion for words, a notepad and a pen and you will be provided with prompts which will take you around the town, the beach and the park and leave you with a renewed confidence for writing.

There will also be free one-to-one 30-minute sessions as well as group workshops throughout the month.
