A CHARITY football match needs people to come along and show their support to raise money for food banks.

Staff from B&Q stores in Portsmouth, Fareham and Hedge End are set to take on former Pompey legends such as Darren Anderton, Linvoy Primus, Alan Knight and many others on Sunday.

All the profits raised at the match will go towards the Fareham and Gosport food bank, which gives food parcels to those in need.

Lisa Congdon, from B&Q Fareham, said: ‘We have 4,000 seats to fill, so we want to make sure we can raise as much money as possible, and get as many people involved as we can.

‘This is a real challenge as there’s so much to organise, but as a great team we love being part of the community.’

Gary Matthews, from B&Q, said: ‘We really want to fill the stadium and raise much needed funds for what is a very worthy charity.’

An auction of signed sports memorabilia will take place afterwards and there will be a chance to win signed footballs from Southampton and Pompey.

The match kicks off on May 11 at 2pm at Gosport Borough Football Club at Privett Park, on Privett Road.
