SPENDING time with my family is really important to me but it can sometimes be tough to find something that we will all enjoy doing together.

And that’s why we try to do all we can here at St John’s to make space for families to do things together.

This Sunday at 10.30am Family Time meets. It’s church, but a very informal kind of church.

There are beanbags for the children to sit on and we begin by listening to a story from the Bible and then choose a creative way to explore what we think that story means.

There’s a range of activities to choose from including painting, building with Lego and drama.

If you’re someone who likes to discuss things, you can get together with others and chew over the story.

Tea, coffee, soft drinks and cake are available throughout the service and it’s all very relaxed and informal.

This Sunday we’re also going to be having a special short ceremony to say thank you to God for the gift of a child.

Afterwards, we will be celebrating with a picnic and treasure hunt in the park behind Fareham Leisure Centre. That will be starting about 12.15pm.

We’re asking people to bring along picnic blankets and some food to eat and enjoy each other’s company, again in a very relaxed and informal way.

We’ll also be having a treasure hunt in the park.
