Leigh Park Carnival is back!

A JOURNEY back to the swinging 60s is in store this weekend.

Leigh Park Carnival returns tomorrow and the shopping centre will look like it has gone back in time with mini-skirts and bouffant hairdos aplenty.

Stall and rides will be open soon after 9.30am.

The fancy dress procession will gather in Park Parade, outside the old NatWest, from 11.15am.

There will then be judging by the mayor of Havant, Councillor Faith Ponsonby, and her consort Michael Ponsonby.

The procession will move up to Greywell, led by the band of TS Alacrity, for presentation of prizes at midday.

Shops have been asked to decorate their windows in the sixties theme, and there will be music from the Leigh Park Singers, Miranda at the DJ point in Park Parade, as well as other singers at the DJ tent in Greywell.

A magician will be performing in both ends of the shopping centre.

The free event is open to all and will finish at about 5pm.
