A COMMUNITY planning group has organised a clean-up of open spaces in Leigh Park.

For the second year running, the Leigh Park Community Planning Group has co-ordinated the summer tidy.

Havant Borough Council has seen a number of residents raising the issue of excess litter, dog fouling and fly-tipped waste in the area, and is now supporting the group with its scheme.

Last year more than 160 volunteers helped collect 62 bags of litter during the week.

The event has the backing of number of community groups and local schools have signed up to volunteer during this year’s clean-up.

It is being held on July 13, around the Leigh Park area, with the aim of making sure all public open spaces are clear of litter and waste
in time for the summer holidays.
