TWO children were rescued after they were swept out to sea at the entrance to Chichester Harbour.

Solent Coastguard was called to the scene at around 3.30pm between Hayling Island and The Witterings.

Hayling lifeboats and Chichester Harbour Patrol safely rescued the children and an adult who had gone out to try and rescue them.

An ambulance was called to the scene and they were medically checked over and were fine.
