LISTED: Roadworks being carried out in the Hampshire area this week

Drivers have been warned to plan their journeys this weekend while roadworks are carried out on some of Hampshire's busiest routes.

Below we have listed the main improvement work to look out for in the days ahead.

M3- Junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire (smart motorway improvement)

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times by converting the M3 into a smart motorway continues this week.

Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will be in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 3 including the M25 junction 12 clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads to the M3 southbound and the junction 3 exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 31 October for 5 nights.

Work on Saturday morning will finish at 7am.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M25 junction 13, A30 and A322.

The northbound carriageway between junction 3 and 2 including the junction 3 entry slip road and clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads from the M3 junction 2 northbound to M25 junction 12 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 31 October for 5 nights.

Work on Saturday morning will finish at 7am.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322, A30 and M25.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 4 including the junction 3 entry slip road and the junction 4 exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 31 October for 6 nights.

Work on Saturday and Sunday morning will finish at 7am.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322, A30 and A331.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 4a including junction 4 entry slip road and junction 4a exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 31 October for 5 nights.

Work on Saturday morning will finish at 7am.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A327, A30 and A331.

M27 Chilworth, Hampshire (resurfacing)

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of both carriageways near Chilworth starts this week.

The eastbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 5 and the link road from the M3 southbound to the M27 eastbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 31 October for 3 nights.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M3 to junction 12 and return to the Chilworth Roundabout, Bassett Green Road and Stoneham Way.

In addition, the westbound carriageway between junctions 5 and 4 and the link road to the M3 from the M27 westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Thursday 3 November for 3 nights (Monday to Friday only).

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Stoneham Lane, Bassett Green Road to the Chilworth Roundabout, and the M3 to junction 12 and return.

A3 Guildford, Surrey (lighting)

Work to maintain road user safety by replacing damaged parts on selected lighting columns takes place this week.

The northbound carriageway from Compton to the Stoke Interchange at Guildford will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 31 October.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B3000, A31 Hogs Back and Guildford.

The southbound carriageway from the Stoke Interchange at Guildford to the A31 Hogs Back will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 1 November.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Guildford and the A31 Farnham Road.
