A GOSPORT man has built a working kiln from 17th century materials.

Roger Harris, a member of the Gosport Living History Society, has recreated the authentic kiln, which is believed to be the only one of its kind in Europe and maybe the world.

Mr Harris who is the society’s potter, will fire up the oven for the first time at the group’s next event, on Sunday, August 2.

The group’s Little Woodham base, gives history lovers a unique look into 17th century living, with the kiln set to be its hottest attraction.
