But the 29-year-old, left, completed the races wearing an oxygen cylinder to raise awareness of lung conditions.

Kelly works as a pulmonary rehabilitation physiotherapist at Solent NHS Trust and is doing the runs to raise money for the British Lung Foundation.

She works daily with patients who have lung conditions so the charity is close to her heart.

Kelly, from Locks Heath, said: ‘Every day I see the benefits of empowering change, management through self-motivation and a chance to regain control in patients affected by a lung condition.

‘For every day I get my patients out of breath to teach them how to control it, and encourage them to do a few seconds more, this is payback for them.

‘A marathon is hard but the British Lung Foundation is a charity I truly believe in.

‘I’m willing to put in the mileage to get the awareness and money it needs to continue its excellent work.’

Kelly completed parkruns in Netley Abbey, Lee-on-the-Solent, Fareham and Southsea.

She will now take on the London Marathon tomorrow along with 100 other runners for the British Lung Foundation and hopes to raise £1,800.
