POLICE are on the scene of an accident at a busy town centre junction.

There are long tailbacks at the Quay Street roundabout, in Fareham, following the collision between a Vauxhall and a Mercedes.

It happened just after 3.15pm and paramedics have been called, although police say the accident is not serious.

There have been problems at the junction all day because the traffic lights have apparently been switched off.
