A LORRY fire is causing delays in and out of Gosport.

Police had closed the A32 at the crossroads of Forest Way and Heritage Way after the lorry caught fire

Firefighters from Gosport were called to the incident on Fareham Road at 11.45am today.

It took around 45 minutes to put out the fire that had started in the engine.

A spokeswoman from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘We were called to Fareham Road after a fire started in the engine compartment of a vehicle.

‘The fire was put out by 12.30pm and they are waiting for a recovery vehicle.’

The road is now open but delays are expected for a while.
