Major fire at Hayling Island homes

Six fire engines and two ambulances have been sent to the blaze in Southwood Road.

The call came in at about midday today following reports of a fire in the conservatory of a house.

It is understood two properties are involved.

A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was a ‘substantial fire’, but no further details were available yet.

Portchester Fire Station has tweeted both properties are ‘well alight’ and crews across the patch, from Hayling, Cosham, Emsworth, Havant, Southsea and Portchester, are working to put out the major blaze.
