Major poll on homes plan is extended to new year

Hill Head coastguard called to woman stuck in mud

Have your say

A PUBLIC consultation on the likely locations for hundreds of new homes in Havant borough has been extended.

The consultation was supposed to end on December 21, but will now finish on January 17.

Officers have allocated 2,788 homes at greenfield and brownfield sites across the borough in the Draft Local Plan (Allocations).

However, they have decided to extend the consultation for a few more weeks after the wording in some of the paragraphs in the document slightly changed.

Officials said the information on the preferred sites for housing remains the same and the document is ‘largely unaltered’.

All representations that Havant Borough Council has received will be accepted.

Consultees who have made representations to date will be invited to review their comments.

Two more drop-in sessions have been organised for people to have their say. The first is next Thursday from 6pm to 9pm in The Hurstwood Room, Public Service Plaza, Havant. Another session takes place at the same venue and same time on December 10. To see the document visit
