SHOPPER Anne Jones is one of many getting behind our healthy eating campaign by proving that making nutritious meals is Easy Freezy.
Healthy Pompey's Easy Freezy campaign, which is backed by The News, has got off to a flying start with dozens of people picking up recipes for healthy home-made meals to cook and freeze for another day.
This week the Healthy Pompey team have been at Asda in Fratton promoting the campaign and letting customers taste the recipes for themselves.
Amanda McKenzie from Healthy Pompey said: 'It has been going really, really well. We've had lots of interest and people are loving the food tasters.
'The message that it's easy to make your own healthy meals and freeze them is really getting out there and people are receiving it well.'
Anne Jones, the headteacher from St Swithun's Catholic Primary School, was in store yesterday and picked up some recipes for the school's cookery club, and some healthy recommended frozen foods from the store. She said: 'I think it's a great campaign.
'Anything that promotes healthy eating is a good thing. We'll definitely be looking to encourage the children to get involved in the campaign in our cooking club too.'
The Easy Freezy campaign was launched at the start of this month. Asda in Fratton has given the initiative its backing by allowing Healthy Pompey to promote the campaign to customers.
Recipe stands can be found in the freezer aisles in store, and Healthy Pompey have put logos next to products which are healthier frozen options. Anyone who opts for Easy Freezy recommended food get a voucher for money off their shopping.
The Healthy Pompey team will be in Asda all this week from 9am to 4pm. For more information and to download recipes, which will feature in The News every Thursday, visit healthypompey.com.
