AN ELDERLY cyclist is fighting for his life after his bike and a car collided.

The man, thought to be in his 60s or 70s, was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, with serious head and leg injuries by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The crash happened on Sheardley Lane, Droxford, at 1.06pm yesterday and police closed the road from 2.40pm to 5.15pm while ambulance crews tended to the man from Upper Swanmore.

Fire crews were also at the scene as well as two ambulance crews and basic doctor. There were no other casualties.
