POLICE officers and firemen leapt into action after a man suffered from a cardiac arrest in Gosport.

The man in his 50s collapsed outside Gosport fire station, in Privett Road, at 8.45am yesterday.

Police officers and firemen carried out CPR until paramedics arrived to find the man was not breathing.

They used a defibrillator to get his heart starting, before taking him to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham.
