Man hospitalised after flat fire breaks out in Portsmouth
A MAN has been taken to hospital after a fire broke out in a first floor flat in Buckland in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters from Southsea Fire Station attended the incident at 5.15am in New Road, Portsmouth, after a blaze broke out in the front room.
Fire crews had been alerted of the incident by a passer-by.
A spokesman from Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: ‘We were tackling the blaze until 5.30am.
‘One male has been taken to hospital as a result of the incident.’
