Rescuers tow 44ft yacht to Gosport after fire and engine failure

A MAN was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car while trying to cross a busy Fareham road.

The incident happened at 3pm yesterday on the corner of Hartlands Road, Fareham.

Paramedics were called to check over the man and the female driver. Police were also called to direct the traffic.

A police spokesman said: ‘We were called by South Central Ambulance Service to assist after a 60-year-old man was involved in a collision with a Vokswagen car. He was being checked for leg injuries.’

A spokesman for SCAS said they took the man to Queen Alexandra Hospital.
