Man is locked up after two assaults in one day

A MAN has been jailed for 24 weeks after admitting a string of offences.

Christopher Blades, 45, of Beecham Road, Buckland, admitted an assault by beating on April 15 against a woman.

He also pleaded guilty to another count of the same offence on the same day.

Portsmouth magistrates imposed a four-week sentence on each count as he had committed crimes after a suspended sentence was imposed and these were domestic assaults when he was drinking.

Blades admitted breaching a suspended sentence for two counts of driving while disqualified and one of drink-driving. He received an eight, four and six-week term for those breaches.

He also admitting breaching a community order for two counts of assault by beating.

He received four weeks’ concurrent for the breaches.

In total he was sentenced to 24 weeks.
