SHOPPERS have got extra treats to enjoy in Gosport this festive season.

Alongside the regular Tuesday and Saturday markets, Gosport’s council has organised entertainment.

This Saturday, the Salvation Army Band will perform Christmas carols in the High Street and there will also be live animals in a nativity farm.

Then on Saturday, December 14, the community church’s Choir Carol Concert will be held outside the Town Hall.

Reindeer will also be in the town for young children to enjoy.

And on Saturday, December 21, there will be music from Radio Haslar and HMS Sultan’s band.

Youngsters are also being encouraged to take part in a children’s Christmas trail competition throughout the town centre.

Children need to spot lantern signs in shops in Stoke Road and the High Street in Gosport.

The last day to submit a completed leaflet, available from the Town Hall or shops, is December 20.
