DOGS across the area are raring to get their paws into Southsea’s pebbles and take over the beach on a mass walk.

The event, organised by the Isle of Wight’s Retired Greyhound Trust, is open to any breed and usually sees around 80 pooches take part. The trust will bring greyhounds which need re-homed and give potential owners a chance to walk them.

The six-mile walk starts at 2pm from Eastney swimming pool on Sunday April 17.
