SUPPORT has been shown for a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in Gosport by some of top dignitaries.

Town mayor Cllr Keith Farr and police Chief Inspector Jim Pegler were the guests of honour at the Gosport Neighbourhood Watch group’s annual general meeting, held at the Methodist Church in Stoke Road.

The pair voiced their support for scheme, which is run by volunteers and aims to reduce crime across the borough.

With the reduced resources in policing, Chief Insp Pegler praised the NW teams for being vigilant in their communities and giving support to vulnerable neighbours.

Neighbourhood Watch chairwoman Carole Rudin was presented with a certificate of merit by Chief Insp Pegler for her hard work supporting the community.
