GOSPORT’S mayoress raised more than £200 for charity with a coffee morning and street collection.

Mayoress Julia Carter was raising money for the St John Ambulance volunteers.

The event was held at the Gosport Discovery Centre on April 21.

The coffee morning raised around £156 in donations.

Another £117 was raised in a street collection and £12 was raised by selling pens.

Mrs Carter said: ‘Many thanks to all who supported the event.’
