Medical staff to race for chosen charity

FOUR members of a staff from Westlands Medical Centre in Portchester are taking part in the Great South Run.

They are running for the centre’s chosen charity of the year – The Princess Royal Trust for Carers in Hampshire, which provides carers with advice, information and support. The charity was picked by members of the centre’s patient participation group.

Kerry Hearsey, CEO of the trust, said: ‘We are delighted to have been chosen to be their charity of the year. It is a real honour for us and shows how committed the centre is to supporting carers in their local community.’

Dr Lois Bowd, Dr Chris Castle, Sister Caryl Goldstone and practice manager Joe Todd are running the 10-mile race. To sponsor them go to justgiving.com/crowdfunding/westlands
