Landlady Rebecca Lambert worked in the human resources sector before she took over the reigns at The Hampshire Rose.
Rebecca, who grew up in Court Lane, Cosham, was a pupil at Springfield School, in Central Road, Drayton, before taking up a hotel management course at Highbury College, in Dovercourt Road, Cosham.
After a month Rebecca decided she had chosen the wrong career path - so she embarked on a human resource management programme at the University of Portsmouth. With her new qualifications, Rebecca worked for IBM as a human resources manager for 14 years before becoming a human resources and recruitment manager at B&Q.
She then joined a family-run insulation business which began refurbishing The Hampshire Rose - and this gave her the avenue to take over the pub.
Rebecca said: ‘I love my job. When I first began working as a landlady I realised how much fun it was. I wake up every morning looking forward to the challenges ahead. No day is the same.’
