Memorial for fallen officers set to be installed at police HQ

POLICE officers who died in the line of duty are set to be remembered with a permanent memorial.

After work by Hampshire Police Federation chairman John Apter the installation will be put in at Hampshire police’s Netley Training Headquarters.

Mr Apter said: ‘It will be there for everyone to see. We’ll be commemorating those who died in the execution of their duty for Hampshire Constabulary.’

The names of the fallen will be on the memorial, including many from Portsmouth who died during air raids in the Second World War.
