MORE than £3,500 has been donated by Fareham Borough Council to pay for repairs for a hall roof.

Catisfield Memorial Hall hall was built in 1946 and is in serious need of repair.

Fundraising efforts paid for a new kitchen, toilets, meeting room and a much brighter and warmer main hall after new lighting and improved heating.

The repairs to the roof, made possible by the financial aid of the Fareham Community Fund, completed the mission to rejuvenate the hall.

Councillor Sean Woodward, leader of the council, said: ‘The contribution from the Community Fund has helped salvage this much-cherished hall and secured its place at the heart of the community for years to come.’

The fund is available to support projects that benefit the local community or environment within the borough of Fareham.

Any resident, or organisation based in the borough can apply for money for funds.
