TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of committing seven burglaries in less than a month.

The suspects, both aged 28 and from Portsmouth, were snared by police in the early hours of December 23 after officers were called to The Discount Store in Eastney Road, Eastney, to reports someone was trying to break in.

They were also questioned about burglaries at Booker Cash and Carry in Williams Road, Copnor, on December 4, and Comet, at Ocean Retail Park, in Burrfields Road, Copnor on the same day in which 15,000 of goods were stolen.

Police also suspect them of breaking into Toys 'R' Us and Carpet Right at Ocean Retail Park, and Southsea Golf Club in Burrfields Road, and stealing cash and a safe, also on December 4, and Greggs in Quatremaine Road, Copnor, on December 18,

The men were released on police bail until February 14 pending further enquiries.
