FLOODS could hit the Portsmouth area in the next few days, the Met Office warned last night.

The public are warned that outbreaks of heavy, thundery rain are likely and flooding is possible.

It came as parts of Hampshire and Dorset were hit by flash floods yesterday.

The Met Office said the M3 corridor was likely to see heavy rain.

Hampshire Constabulary said it had received a steady stream of calls during yesterday afternoon about flooding on roads across the county and warned the public to take extra care.
