Michael goes to great steam shed in the sky
His funeral was held at Portchester Crematorium last Monday and the turn-out was amazing.
More than 150 mourners attended and Andrew Searson, of Searson’s Family Funeral Company, gave a superb 30-minute oration on the life of the much-loved author who travelled the length and breadth of the country to see and photograph his beloved steam locomotives.

The non-religious ceremony finished with the sound of a steam engine leaving a station and the Travelling Wilburys singing End Of The Line.
Afterwards, many retired with Michael’s family to the Hampshire Rose at Widley.
