More cash to be won in Rowans Hospice weekly lottery

THE prize up for grabs in The Rowans Hospice lottery is set to be increased.

The first prize of the weekly lottery has now gone up from £750 to £1,000.

The Rowans Hospice Lottery currently raises £125,000 a year and by increasing the top prize the hope is to raise significantly more by attracting new members.

Joining the lottery costs just £1 per week for a chance to win £1,000 or one of 12 runners up prizes.

Anne Yendell, director of finance and operations for The Rowans Hospice, said: ‘The money raised through our Hospice Lottery is very important as it helps fund our services.

‘Many other hospices have successfully grown their lottery income in this way and we hope to be able to do the same.

‘Every £1 raised makes a difference to us and enables us to continue supporting people affected by life-limiting illnesses, living in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.’
