ANOTHER band of heavy rain and strong winds will blow across the south tomorrow.

The gales, which could be severe along exposed coasts, will reach a peak at about midnight on Friday.

Heavy rain and intermittent showers will persist throughout the day from about 8am tomorrow.

High winds will continue into Saturday afternoon, but will die down for the rest of the weekend.

The good news is next week is set to be a mixture of sunshine and showers, with no major storms expected.
